Born in Nottingham in 1978, Kris Hardy is a British artist known for his vibrant cityscapes and urban scenes. He is a self-taught painter whose background in automotive design and photography has had a strong influence on his artistic style. Hardy's work is characterised by the fascinating contrast between the rigid, monumental scale of buildings and the softer, more fluid elements of a cityscape. Working with oil, watercolour, and acrylic, he uses a distinctive colour palette of soft pastels contrasted with sharp, deep tones to create atmospheric and dynamic scenes of famous cities like New York, London, and Paris. Since becoming a full-time artist in 2003, his work has gained significant popularity across the UK.
