About the artist:
Alexander Rhys is an artist who transforms his unique perspective into vibrant, narrative artworks. He's captivated by how colour, pattern, and texture combine to tell stories, drawing inspiration from diverse cultures, natural and urban environments, and the interplay between Eastern and Western art. Rhys creates layered textures with acrylics before introducing freedom and unpredictability with spray paints, elevating everyday subjects. His work is characterized by a vivid palette, enriched by metallic golds and silvers.
Influenced by childhood exposure to minimalist architecture and Matisse prints, Rhys studied Fine Art at Birmingham and Bath Spa University. Since 2017, his art has gained international recognition, sold and published across major cities worldwide, and collected by notable figures including Clear Channel, LDC, Millie Brady, and Octopizzo. A Prince's Trust Young Ambassador of the Year, Rhys uses his art as a force for good, even discussing its potential to combat crime with former Prime Minister Theresa May. His career highlights include inclusion in the Saatchi Gallery's "Cash is King" exhibition, leading an art therapy session at Fearne Cotton's Happy Place Festival, and being photographed by RANKIN. Rhys embraces the genre-defying nature of his work, prioritizing visual impact over categorization.
