About the artist:

Martin Cooper is a multifaceted English artist, known for his work as both a painter and a musician. Born in Liverpool in 1958, he pursued a formal education in art, culminating in a first-class honours degree in Fine Arts from Sheffield College of Art. While he has dedicated significant periods to his painting, producing exquisitely detailed still life works in oil, he is also widely recognised for his musical contributions. Cooper was a member of the acclaimed electronic music band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), where he played keyboards and saxophone. His artistic talents converged in projects such as the album cover for "Still Life" by his band The Listening Pool, which featured one of his own paintings. Throughout his career, he has successfully balanced both his passions, gaining recognition in both the art and music worlds.
